Marjorie Skouras
Marjorie Skouras is a prominent interior designer who describes her style as “fairly traditional, but almost always with a twist, and playfulness is a constant element.” Her first collection for Currey & Company debuted in 2010, and our collaboration with her continues to yield daring, beautiful, elegant lighting pieces. Her travels to lush gardens around the world and her love of nature have influenced her designs, which rings true to Currey as garden inspiration is the heart and soul of many of our products.
Marjorie began her career in photography and spent 17 years in the film industry. Her transition to interior design and building her successful firm, Marjorie Skouras Design LLC, was a natural one. Her diverse projects, signature collections and distinctive personal style have earned her international recognition. In 2015, Skouras moved from her decades-long home in Hollywood to Merida, Mexico (in The Yucatan), where she undertook the restoration of an Art Nouveau mansion. There she designs new products, communes with nature and enjoys life with her family and dogs.

Skouras’s latest collection for Currey & Company is a celebration of the influences of her beloved Yucatan home. Agave plants, palm fronds, sand dollars and even a pair of whimsical quail adorn this special collection that includes furniture, lighting and accents.
