Phyllis Morris

Phyllis Morris was an iconic trendsetter in the world of interiors who wrote her own rules. The "swinging 1960s" gave Phyllis an opportunity to shake up the interior design world with her vision of how colorful and eclectic interiors and furnishings could be. Her saying "Minimalism is for those without much to say,” is emblematic of her lighting collection for Currey & Company, which boasts large-scale, grandiose chandeliers and table lamps.

Phyllis Morris was one of the first designers and manufacturers to embrace Hollywood Regency. During the avant-garde mid-century modern era that birthed a long list of design-industry superstars, she opened her first showroom dedicated to lighting in 1953. By the 1960's, Phyllis turned heads in the design community and was dubbed "The Marilyn Monroe of the furniture industry." Today, her daughter Jamie Adler keeps her mother’s memory and unforgettable style alive through the Phyllis Morris brand.
