LMG Design on Currey & Company
As the air grows chilly in many parts of the United States, the sunny warmth that continues throughout most of the year in Florida begins to beckon. There is definitely something special about designing interiors for the state’s coastal communities and no one knows this better than Lisa Guild. We asked the principal of the Naples-based firm LMG Design Consulting, who regularly taps Currey & Company products for her luxurious interiors, to tell us what draws her to our offerings and she didn’t disappoint. Be sure to read on after our interview to learn a bit more about this dynamic interior design firm that has an incredible portfolio and to see our booth number for BDNY.
LMG Design on Currey & Company
Lisa Guild, the principal of LMG Design Consulting, a firm based in Naples, Florida.
C&C: We love our relationships with the design professionals who use our products in their projects. Are there particular things about our offerings that influence you to choose them?
LG: Currey & Company is a “go to” choice for our coastal projects given their wide selection of woven, palm, white, and rattan lighting. We appreciate the thought behind many of the fixtures, and love the lighting designer’s analogy of a hurricane with its concentric circles when he created the Garborone Chandelier (pictured below).
Our Garborone Chandelier looks so lovely in this setting with its mix of tropical motifs.
C&C: We’ve noticed how masterfully you use drenching colors. One of our newest categories includes brightly colored accessories. How important is it for a manufacturer like Currey & Company to offer accessories?
LG: Brightly colored accessories and interesting shapes are important to our projects where white reigns supreme. Neutral backgrounds and spacious rooms can handle some fun color and texture. We are excited about the new category of accessories as we look to pops of color for impact, and these accessories are a great way to introduce brightness without overpowering the overall space.
Our Antibes Chandelier is right at home in this dining area enlivened by the floral wallpaper.
C&C: We were thrilled to come across the image of the Antibes Chandelier that was recently featured in Florida Design magazine surrounded by the beautiful floral wallpaper (shown above). Given you are located in an ocean-side town, are our woven products natural choices for you?
LG: Natural products resonate with our coastal aesthetic. Our clients are drawn to the ocean, the sun, and palm trees. The handmade natural materials and iconic palm lighting are all favorites from Currey & Company.
If our Tropical Grande Brass Floor Lamp wasn’t lit, it would be difficult to tell where it ends and the wallpaper begins!
C&C: The image of the Antibes also illustrates a talent for intermingling formal and casual elements. How important do you think this is for the success of a space?
LG: Intermingling formal and casual design elements is an important facet of our aesthetic. We appreciate things with a sense of age and patina when paired with casual living spaces. Since many of our clients have multiple homes, it’s important to have some AH-HA! Moments that show unexpected selections. We particularly enjoy adding dressy lighting to casual spaces.
Our Serpentina White Chandelier is a crisp element in this space awash in colorful furnishings.
C&C: Do you have favorite products in our lineup that you have used time and again?
LG: Yes. The photos illustrating this post are some of our favorite examples of Currey & Company fixtures in our designs. We love how these fixtures have interesting shapes and stories that enhance the work we do.
As we share the LMG Design story, we’re giving several of the fixtures Lisa chose for the projects we’re featuring today their fifteen-minutes of fame in silhouette!
The LMG Design Story
During her three decades of designing luxury homes, Lisa has solidified the reputation of LMG Design Consulting as a stand-out interior design firm in Southwest Florida. While creating interiors for high-end projects around the country, LMG’s work rises to great heights because of her keen sense for designing singular spaces that represent architectural integrity while maintaining the client’s personal aesthetic. LMG’s aesthetic is always informed by the location and architecture of a structure because each project is vastly different. To maintain so much variety, Lisa is constantly drawing on inspiration from each individual client. LMG Design has a team of talented designers who provide expert advice through collaborations from inception to installation.
With an expansive background in commercial and event spaces, and a broad portfolio of residential projects, Lisa’s process is interactive—she synthesizes a client’s ideas into a cohesive design regardless of the style. For over three decades, the firm has been designing and installing highly custom, turn-key projects for luxury residential spaces. Instead of recreating short-lived trends, LMG values timeless design sensibilities discovered through travel, education, and research.
With a team of seasoned designers dedicated to hands-on client experiences, LMG has perfected the art of collaborating with clients from the first design meeting to the walkthrough reveal, even those who are remote. LMG’s exclusive client list is comprised primarily of referrals and repeat clients, which is reflective of their strong relationships. In a nutshell, the LMG design team provides personalization, expertise, and operates with the utmost discretion.
We’d like to thank Lisa for giving us her thoughts on our products for Currey & Company’s readers today! As the temperatures drop in Atlanta, we’re envious of the nice weather Naples will still be enjoying as we slide deeper into fall! If you’re going to be in NYC for BDNY, please stop by and see us in booth 2417 in the Javits Center. We’ll be there on November 12 and 13.
