Holiday Gift Ideas Brighten the Home
Tomorrow’s Thanksgiving feasts officially kick off the holiday season, and shopping for those perfect holiday gift ideas will be at the top of everyone’s list. In the spirit of helping everyone check as many people off that list as possible, we are sharing mirrors and accessories that are in stock and ready to ship. Choosing decorative items for someone’s special spaces for holiday gift-giving is so 2021 after all, as we have all been hyper-focused on home during the past year and change!
Holiday Gift Ideas from Currey & Company
The patina of oxidized copper makes our Rame Mirror a textural marvel. The frame is covered in tiny copper discs that were meticulously laid in place. The aged look of the material makes this copper decorative mirror perfect for a room in which distressing will add a rough luxe vibe.
Our Chloros Large Jar pays homage to the canisters used by Indian companies to export tea leaves to England since the 14th century. Made of porcelain with a beautiful reactive dark emerald glaze, this luxe green decorative accessory is one of two sizes we offer. Pair the large and small green jars for double the punch.
One of our artisanal pieces painstakingly created by hand, the Davos Small Mirror has a frame covered in slivers of bone inset in a fractured diamond pattern into composite. The brown decorative mirror will bring a lovely texture to a space. The Davos comes in a larger size.
Our Modernist Bone and Horn Boxes come in a set of two. This very conceptual design has a mosaic made from pieces of hand-cut buffalo horn applied to a Mango wood structure. These decorative boxes with their modernist pattern represent a new approach to contemporary design in handicrafts in India. We also have a decorative tray with this mosaic pattern.
The distressed surfaces of our Kenton Square Whitewash Tea Table make this wood decorative accessory a piece with powerful patina. Made of wood, we offer the decorative pedestal in two shapes in both whitewashed and black finishes.
The Currey & Company Gregor Small Mirror, shown here in our High Point showroom, is among our holiday gift ideas for 2021.
The sophistication of artfully cut horn brings our Gregor Small Mirror a tailored feel, as does the very small brass rope-wire inlay. The horn that has been applied to the dark brown decorative mirror is chiseled, a skill that takes our artisans years to perfect. We also offer the Gregor in a larger size.
Each piece in our Mughal family of accessories is made from an ancient Italian technique that was once accomplished with Ivory. Our version of the Mughal Vase is made of Mango wood covered in camel bone. These decorative accessories are extraordinarily time-consuming to make, as each piece of bone has to be cut and polished, put into place, adjusted, and glued. Then, when all pieces are set, this beautiful mosaic is polished again.
The Karoo Small Crystalized Green Vase is made of porcelain with a crystalized green surface that brings the vase a subtle texture. We have a number of offerings with this finish and we offer the Karoo in a larger version.
Plumes of indigo and cloud-colored blues rise up the body of our Minten Medium Vase made of porcelain. This is one of our offerings that illustrates how our finish artisans love to experiment with handmade treatments like this very creative reactive glaze. We also offer this classically chic dark blue vase in small and large sizes.
The Black Bone Mosaic Box Set illustrates the talents of the artisans who create the surfaces of these black decorative boxes. The mosaics in black bone are painstakingly arranged and affixed to the wood boxes. The random patterns achieved by the irregularly shaped segments bring this black decorative box a textural feel.
