New Summer Products Debuting
We’re less than a week away from Atlanta Market, which begins on July 13 and ends on the 19th. We hope you’ll join us for our ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the new 10,000+ square foot showroom in AmericasMart, which will take place at 4pm on Friday, July 16. The new showroom information is now listed on the AmericasMart website if you haven’t visited us in the new location yet. You’ll see many of the precursors of our newest releases that we introduced on the website several weeks ago and some wonderful new summer products.
New Summer Products
Joining our rectangular-shaped mirrors, round versions of the Pasay (shown in the opening beauty shot) and Jeanie (shown directly above) were introduced last week. Textural playfulness results when strung Buri beads are fastened to the frames of our Pasay and Jeanie Round Mirrors, particularly when the ends of strands extend beyond the interior edge of the decorative mirrors.
New in Accessories
Joining the green versions of our Milione Vases this summer are blue vases in small, medium, and large. These artisanal vessels are made by a group of elderly women who live at the border of Burma and Thailand. The black ceramic vases have a white glazing and tiny blue leaves, each applied by hand to the sides of the vases. Each leaf is then hand-glazed with a very subtle blue shading.
Our Waikiki Beach Pineapples are new to our product line. We have made these whimsical pieces in large and medium, the large with a taller crown of leaves and the medium with a more compact halo of greenery. These decorative accessories are also handmade of stoneware by women artisans living at the border of Burma and Thailand. From the Hawaiian shores to 1940s Miami, the pineapple has long been a symbol of hospitality. Placing one or both of these ceramic sculpture prominently in a room is a graceful move.
Also among our new summer products are the Rayures family of vases. They come in medium and large; in long-neck medium and long-neck large versions; and in a gourd shape. Lines of black and frosted glass bring these vases a stunning texture that was created with a marvelous glass technique. The mouth-blown glass vases are made from two layers, a clear glass underneath that is fully covered by a solid black glass. The pieces are then taped so that the black glass is protected where it is not to be removed when they are sandblasted to reveal the clear glass beneath. The amount of work and skill required to create these is rigorous.
Our So Nouveau vases are made of terracotta in blue, green, black, and yellow pops of color. Available in small, medium, and large, these vases with their kicky patterns belong in the Art Decoratifs, or Art Deco, category thanks to their strong hues and graphic qualities. The elegant multicolored vases expand our offerings in bright tones.
