Kips Bay Decorator Show House

The fourth annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Palm Beach is underway. The beautifully decorated home at 7417 South Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach will be open through May 9th. If you’re planning to attend but you haven’t purchased tickets, you can do so on the Kips Bay website. Tickets for attending in person are $40, and the hours the show house is open are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can also purchase virtual tours if you’re not going to be in Florida in time to see it. All proceeds benefit the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.

Veranda Magazine, the media sponsor for the Kips Bay Decorator Show House called the overall aesthetic of the 22 spaces within the Mediterranean style building “transportive,” adding that the home is full of whimsy, nostalgia, and a deep connection to nature; and that it “provides just the escape we need.”

Brittany Bromley

About Brittany Bromley’s space, “Les Jardin des Perroquets,” editors of the magazine noted that the space’s design was inspired by Bromley’s partnership with de Gournay, which resulted in a hand-painted wallpaper featuring pink parrots. “This is the first time the brand has used pink parrots in its work,” they added. “Much of the beautiful decor and furniture in the room is from Bromley’s home collection.” The bedroom retreat also features an office space and a bathroom.

Four of our products were sourced for the lush, layered room. Bromley chose the Malibay Accent Table/Pedestal wrapped in natural rope and topped with a disc of glass; the Silas Drinks Table and Silas Accent Table, both in a brass antique finish with circular panes of smoke glass; and our Pino Drinks Table made of brass and white marble.

Alexandra Naranjo

Alexandra Naranjo designed the bathroom and closet space of the guest suite for the Kips Bay Decorator Show House, naming the rooms “Interlude in Indigo.” The Canadian designer aimed to create spaces that were both elegant and exotic, an experience on par with being transported into an enchanted garden. For these spaces, Naranjo tapped our Empress Parrot sculptures in a crisp white, our Salice Drinks Table made of brass with decorative black details, our Teagan bench with its cane sides, and our Mantra Chandelier with its gold leaf finish on long tentacles of metal.

Both rooms are packed with colorful patterns that create delightful backdrops in contrasting color—each truly enchanting, as was the designer’s intent. Whereas the closet space has white cabinetry with a tailored feel that juxtaposes the bright turquoise and blue hues in the space, the bathroom is a moody mix of vibrant colors that contrast the dark trim and bathtub.

Nicole White of her eponymous firm designed “The Primary Closet,” to which Veranda editors said she brought a modern, dramatic flair to the dressing space. “She blended her love of fashion plus art and photography by Black creatives to amplify the message that Black is beautiful and should always be celebrated,” they added, noting, “The striking chandelier is by Currey & Company, while the animal print bench is covered in S. Harris trim and Fabricut fabric.” The fixture they mention is our Chauveau Chandelier with its ribbons of wrought iron encircling an open center. She also chose our Visby Pepper Bench with its reversible seat that becomes a table-top, and the Birds Nest 7-Light Multi-Drop for this space.

White also designed “The Primary Bathroom,” with a dramatic black backdrop, which Veranda’s editors wrote the designer described it as “an Afro-luxe fashion adventure.” They added, “She drew from her Caribbean roots and her love of Palm Beach modern style to create this uniquely elegant space that goes far beyond palm trees to pay homage to this special city.” For this room, White chose our Francine Wall Sconces and Dallow Pendants with their punched-metal shades.

Forbes-Masters

Forbes-Masters designed the powder room of the Kips Bay Decorator Show House to exude a rainforest spa experience. Called “Balneario,” the space is awash in patterns and textures. Veranda’s editors wrote, “Upon entering, one is instantly struck by the beauty of the charcoal-and-rust-hued marble, which the team says ‘provided a stunning and dramatic backdrop to the sleek, modern Kohler fixtures, allowing them to sparkle like jewels but not overpower the other design elements.’ Currey & Company’s Jazz Pendant Lights and Garden Stool bring a modern touch while vibrant greenery offers organic beauty. Art by Jennifer Balcos Gallery ties this contemporary space together and makes for a one-of-a-kind hidden retreat inside this Palm Beach home.” The stool they reference is our Rasi Graphite Table/Stool made of cast aluminum. The team at Forbes-Masters also chose our Lady Meditating Bronze sculpture, which is made from a lost-wax technique, for the space.

Mark Williams

Mark Williams designed the kitchen to have a midcentury-modern-meets-Mediterranean vibe. The white oak cabinetry nailed his intention. The black and white photograph that serves as a focal point on an accent wall is by Mona Kuhn, sourced through Jackson Fine Art. Our Saba Rectangular Chandelier, which is made of wrought iron in a Hiroshi gray finish and white porcelain, gleams overhead. This is so apropos given the shades on the fixture were inspired by Asian noodle bowls! Williams also chose the Coupe Wall Sconce in our Denise McGaha Collection, the shades paying homage to champagne coupes. Tapping these two products, the talented designer chose themes worthy of a luxurious kitchen!

Lorna Gross

Lorna Gross designed the dining room for the Kips Bay Decorator Show House, which she dubbed “Menagerie Dining Room.” She intended to create a space “that felt like a fantasy—something experiential with a story,” she told Veranda editors. They added, “Once she fell for a whimsical, woodland-creature-laden wallpaper by Clarke & Clarke through Kravet, a pair of fawn sculptures, dreamy drapery and napkin fabric from S. Harris, a table runner from Stroheim, and a bronze and bamboo chandelier by Currey & Company, Gross knew she was onto something out of a fairytale.”

The chandelier they are referencing is our Gaborone Chandelier, which hangs beautifully above the dining room table. She also chose the Camille Round Mirror with cream leather straps, the Valor Bowl made of white marble and brass, the Kaipo Two-Drawer Chest wrapped in abaca rope, the Logan Gold Console Table, and the Amita Table Lamp with its diamond-shaped panes of optic crystal.

Lisa Hynes and Heather Weisz of HW Interiors were inspired by their lives as working moms (Hynes has four children and Weisz three) for the laundry space where “laundry meets luxury.” Veranda’s article references how the pair embraced their philosophy of infusing beauty into even those spaces where mundane chores take place as a special aspect of it. This is illustrated by how many of our accessories they chose for the space. The team tapped our Valor Bowls in white and black, the Benoit Box, the Lingam Small Egg, the Lapine Vase Set, the Modernist Bone and Horn Boxes, and a number of our Happy 40 Vases in white. They chose our Montvale Chandelier to light the space, and our Rene Square Mirror as an accent.
